The Travel Agents
Students will be travel agents promoting their country to be visited.
Students will get in contact with a pen-pal in another part of the world.
They will get to know each other interests about traveling preferences.
They will research and promote  a place of their country for their pen pal to visit.
They will make an attractive brochure. and / o ra power point presentation about the culture,food, museums, traditions, sightseens, etc.

Objetivos

Objectives:
Have students develop  thinking skills , critical and creative.
Have students develop social skills, through penpal.
Have students produce the target language, written and spoken through a webcam.
Have students gather and organize information.
Have students link ideas and evaluate importance of certain information.
Have students use different technological sources such as, internet, email, web search, office douments and presentations.
Skills  and attitudes to be developed along the project are:
Confidence, sense of belonging, curiosity, empathy, cooperation, accepting responsibility. 
Research Skills ( Formulating Questions, planning, organising Data, recording data, presenting findings)
Communication Skills (Reading , Writing, and speaking)
Thinkinh Skills ( Comprehension, Evaluation, Analysis, Synthesis)

Duración

The proyect will be held from October 2012 through March 2013. With class work and independent work around 2.5 hours weekly.
Students will answer a mail weekly. looking foward to do it during their computing class.
They will answer those mail using different questionnaires, and according to the place they will like to promote, or the information they will like to have from their epals.

Students will e require to use and email.
Students will be reuire to use office word.
Students will be require to use power point.
Students will be require to use a chat tool of their preference.
Students will be require to use searching tools on internet.

Create the project
Explain it to students
verify sources of information
Create penpal accounts
Assign a penpal account to each student
Check and help students with spelling and grammar mistakes
Give students rubrics for their different assigments and steps.

Labor del Estudiante

Activate their penpal account
Contact their penpal and get to know his/her new friend little by little.
Full fill the questionnaires related to different personal interests.
Navigate in the different websites given by your teacher to have a clear idea of different places to visit.
Create different presentations to create a final brochure.

Evaluación

Students will be evaluated  and the end of the project with their brochure, this will have a rubric to be graded.
And with and oral presentation rubric.
